Only Natural Food:  The Brief

When Only Natural Food approached Appdrenaline, their vision of developing the largest organic and natural product review website (complete with recipes) was only a twinkle in their eye.  Appdrenaline and the Only Natural Food team realized that a new movement was taking hold of the country, not based on geography, ethnicity, or other segregations, but rather, born from a desire to eat naturally without the extra additives many food manufacturers put in food.  We realized that many people don't know they can eat deliciously AND naturally!  

Only Natural Food  came to us with a large excel formatted data base of products and product reviews, nutritional information, company links and coupons and nothing else. In addition, The Only Natural Food editorial staff had little time for a complex content managed site.  Appdrenaline needed to provide a solution that was both data base driven as well as easy to content manage.   We also needed to provide a design idea that portrayed organic and natural food as well as be modern and user friendly. Lastly we needed to incorporate an advanced SEO strategy within the CMS, in order to drive as much traffic as quickly as possible to the site.  Only Natural Food's  revenue model is advertising driven so organic (no pun intended!) traffic and high page ranking was a necessity.

The Idea

Appdrenaline whipped up a fully integrated digital plan that combined a fluid easy to use content managed website along with a social media and newsletter campaign.  This  multi-dimensional user experience combines  ood reviews, blogs, and recipes in and open source .net content management interface that allowed Only Natural Food to save on money but not on quality. The database driven content automatically surfaces the most recent reviews and recipes to the homepage and gateways and allows for automatic updates, making content management super simple for this busy editorial team.  The site allows for multiple editors, each with different levels of editorial control, preview functionality, article versioning, rollback (in case of errors), easy additions to gateways, sub-gateways and multiple article templates.

 

The Result

As Only Natural Food's ongoing digital partner, we’ve significantly driven Only Natural Food's traffic to the point were they are now the  largest natural and organic food review and recipe database in North America. In 2012, Phase II will be a groundbreaking natural food review database including an advanced  social element for users to upload and comment on their own reviews, create blogs, and enjoy and share video content.
